JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – PT Freeport Indonesia has approved on 6 points of mining contract renegotiation while the government of Indonesia welcomes the deal and expects the signing of the agreement in near future.

Coordinating minister for economy, Chairul Tanjung, said that 6 points agreed by Freeport are;

1) The smelter construction
2) The cut of mining area
3) The revision of contract extension to IUPK
4) The royalty hike
5) Divestment
6) The usage of local goods and mining services.

Chairul also said the government has renegotiated 40 mining contracts consisting of mineral contract of works (KK) and coal mining agreement of work (PKP2B). While the rest 67 contracts are on the process of negotiation.
