JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has detained President Director of PT Parna Raya Industri Artha Meris Simbolon, one of suspects in the graft scandal at the powerful Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Body (SKK Migas).
Artha Meris was detained on Tuesday (June 24) night after being questioned by KPK’s investigators for more than nine hours.
According to KPK’s Spokesperson Johan Budi SP, Artha Meris is detained for 20 days at the KPK detention center.
As reported earlier, the KPK had named Artha Meris as one of suspects in SKK Migas scandal on May 14, 2014. The KPK had alleged Artha Meris to have bribed former SKK Migas Head Rudi Rubiandini.
In Rudi’s verdict trial on April 29), panel of judges mentioned that Rudi had received, among others, US$522,500 bribe money from Artha Meris. (haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
