JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – PT Indonesia Asahan Aluminium (Inalum) plans to build power plant with capacity of 600 megawatts (MW) in early next year, to help supporting Inalum’s production. The power plant project will cost US$750 million.

Inalum also needs investment of US$1.9 billion for expanding Inalum’s production capacity, to 500,000 tons of allumina by 2019.

The company plans to build a plant/facility to process allumina products, to add sea ports, and to expand power plant business.

Currently, Inalum’s allumina production capacity reaches 256,602 tons per year, and to reach 260,000 tons this year.

Inalum also plans to build a plant/facility to process bauxite into allumina, partnered with state miner PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTM) and a company from China.
