JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) ended higher 0.5% at 4971 Wednesday (June 11) but trade was volatile. The index moved at range of 4939-4971 during the day trading.
Asian equity markets were mixed on Wednesday with momentum subdued following a lackluster session on Wall Street, Reuters reported.
In Jakarta bourse, investors focused buying construction stocks. Adhi Karya gained 4.67%, Waskita Karya hiked 4.48%, Wijaya Karya lifted 3.6%, and PTPP climbed 3.43%.
Among blue chip stocks, Adaro Energy gained 1.9%, Astra International rose 1.69%, Alam Sutera advanced 2.14%, Lippo Karawaci climbed 1.94%, Jababeka added 2.08%, and Timah gained 2.57%.
Other gainers were Bank Tabungan Negara (+3.45%), Multipolar (+5.77%), and Bumi Resources Minerals (+6.28%).
Investors might continued to focus on domestic issues, including tomorrow’s decision from Bank Indonesia on the benchmark BI Rate. Main focus might be polls ahead of July 9 presidential election.
Nymex’s crude oil increased 0.34% to US$104.70 per barrel and gold rose 0.33% to US$1,264.20 per ounce. The rupiah strengthened to Rp11,803 against the US dollar.
