JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – PT Telekomunikasi Seluler Indonesia (Telkomsel), subsidiary of PT Telkomunikasi Indonesia Tbk (TLKM), plans to build more than 13,000 base transceiver station (BTS) this year, Bisnis.com reported.
Currently Telkomsel operates 77,800 units of BTS. The BTS project will focus in Java island (60% of total new BTS).
Telkomsel also plans to upgrade 25,000 to 28,000 units of BTS this year, mostly to take place in third and fourth quarter of this year.
Telkomsel is now building 155 BTS across the country in anticipating the strong growth in traffics during fasting month (Ramadhan), expected to complete next week.
