JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – National car sales totaled 98,198 units in May 2014, declined 8% from 106,811 units in April 2014, due to holidays factor.
While for January-May period, national car sales grew by 7% to 533,580 units. The Association of Indonesia Automotive Industry (Gaikindo) expects national car sales to reach 1.2 million units this year, equal to last year.
Meanwhile, motorcycles sales increased 1.61% to 731,511 units in May, compared to 727,790 units in previous month.
Honda sold 452,353 units (61.84% of total national sales) and Yamaha sold 237,586 units (32.47%). Suzuki sold 32,997 units (4.44%), Kawasaki sold 15,762 units (2.15%), and TVS sold 813 units (0.11%).
For January-May period, national motorcycle sales total 3.45 million units.
