JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The two pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates, Prabowo Subianto-Hatta Rajasa and Joko “Jokowi” Widodo-Jusuf Kalla, has on Wednesday (Jun 4) officially started their campaign trail for the July 9 presidential election.
Today, Prabowo-Hatta is scheduled to campaign in West Java. Jokowi-Kalla, meanwhile, will only hold the so-called “slametan”, a tradition to express gratitude and seek divine blessing, at PDI-P’s headquarter in Lenteng Agung, South Jakarta.
Jokowi-Kalla will start campaign tomorrow (June 5). Jokowi will campaign in Papua, eastern part Indonesia, while Kalla is scheduled to campaign in Aceh, western part of the country.
As earlier scheduled, both Prabowo-Hatta and Jokowi-Kalla will hold campaign trail until July 5, 2014.
Prabowo-Hatta enters the race with support from a coalition of six political parties (Gerindra, Golkar, PAN, PKS, PPP, and PBB).
While Jokowi-Kalla enters the race with support from a coalition of five political parties (PDI-P, PKB, Nasdem, Hanura, and PKPI).
Yesterday (June 3), both pairs have submitted their campaign fund reports to the General Election Commission (KPU).
According to the KPU, Prabowo-Hatta reported Rp10 billion campaign fund while Jokowi-Kalla reported Rp44 billion campaign fund. (haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
