JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – State cement maker PT Semen Indonesia Tbk (SMGR) plans to expand into Bangladesh, to expand its market share in Asia region, Investor Daily reported this morning.
The company is now evaluating to invite 2-3 local partners in Bangladesh to acquire or build the grinding mills.
For next 5 years, SMGR allocates 10-20% of total capital expenditure (capex), or Rp1-2 trillion, for funding its regional expansion. SMGR allocates capex of Rp4-6 trillion per year.
In late 2012, SMGR acquired 70% stake in Thang Long Cement Vietnam for US$157 million.
