JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) ended down 1.84% to 4893 Friday (May 30) following regional markets.
Investors sold off blue chip stocks. Adaro Energy dropped 5.04%, Astra International fell 5.03%, Lippo Karawaci lost 5.48%, and Perusahaan Gas Negara shed 5.24%.
Other losers were Kalbe Farma (-4.64%), BW Plantation (-4.09%), Bank Rakyat Indonesia (-4.67%), Bank Central Asia (-4.43%), and Bank Negara Indonesia (-3.54%).
Among gainers were Pakuwon Jati (+9.97%), Media Nusantara Citra (+4.04%), Matahari Putra Prima (+8.2%), and Multipolar (+3.97%).
Nymex’s crude oil declined 0.3% to US$103.26 per barrel and gold fell 0.2% to US$1,254.60 per ounce. The rupiah stengthened slightly to Rp11,611 against the US dollar.
