JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Indonesian ceramic association (Asaki) predict the national ceramic sales will only grow by around 8% this year, compared to 15% growth last year, along with the slowing down of property market.

The association predicts national ceramic sales will reach Rp36 trillion this year compared to Rp30 trillion last year. The production is ecpected to reach 360 million meter square (m2), compared to 410 million m2 in 2013.

Meanwhile ceramic producer PT Arwana Citramulia (ARNA) plans to invest Rp1.5 trillion for next 5 years, to expanding its capacity for anticipating the growing demand.

It targets to boost its production capacity to 84.3 million m2 per year, from current 48.3 million m2.

ARNA plans to build new plant in Mojokerto, East Java, with investment cost of Rp250-300 billion, with capacity of 8 million m2 per year.
