JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Golkar Party finally decided to support Prabowo Subianto and his running mate Hatta Rajasa in the July 9 presidential election.
Secretary General of Golkar Idrus Marham, in his speech in the declaration of Prabowo-Hatta pair held on Monday (May 19) noon, confirmed the endorsement of Golkar to Prabowo-Hatta.
Idrus, along with 2 other Golkar leaders – Sharif Tjitjip Soetradjo and Fuad Hasan Masyhur – joint the declaration of Prabowo-Hatta. Idrus claimed their attendances in the event represent Golkar Chairman Aburizal “Ical” Bakrie.
As reported earlier, Prabowo and Hatta had this afternoon (May 19) declared themselves as presidential and vice presidential candidates at Rumah Polonia in Cipinang, East Jakarta.
The pair is scheduled to register at the General Election Commission (KPU) tomorrow (May 20), last day of registration period.
Prabowo-Hatta pair is supported by six political parties – Gerindra, PAN, PKS, PPP, Golkar, and PBB. (haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
