JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Domestic cement sales declined 0.4% to 4.52 million tons in April 2014, compared to 4.54 million tons in April 2013, due to the election of legislative members.
Year to date, cement sales grew by 2.8% to 18.6 million tons, compared to 18.11 million tons in the same period of last year.
The Indonesian Cement Association (ASI) reported cement sales in Sumatra declined 4% to 934,000 tons and sales in Kalimantan fell 8.7% to 355,000 tons.
While sales in Sulawesi declined 3.4% to 322,000 tons and sales in Bali and Nusa Tenggara dropped 13.8% to 230,000 tons.
Otherwise, sales in eastern part of Indonesia rose 27% to 116,000 tons and sales in Java increased 3.1% to 2.57 million tons.
Domestic cement sales grew by 8% to 62 million tons.
