JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Abraham Samad, the Chief of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), has recently been tipped as the most ideal running mate for Jakarta Governor Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, a president candidate from the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P).

Born is Makassar, South Sulawesi, on November 27, 1966, Samad has strong track record. Under his leadership, KPK gained more public trust through revealing several big cases implicating various high-profile names in the country.

Jokowi, meanwhile, just hinted that his vice president candidate will be someone outside of Java, to be announced within next seven days.

While PDI-P leaders added that Jokowi’s running mate is someone with excellent reputation and understanding about Indonesian laws and legal system plus knowledgeable about the economy.

Earlier Jusuf Kalla (former Vice President and former Chairman of Golkar Party) and Ryamizard Ryacudu (a retired Army general) have been tipped as potential running mates for Jokowi. Kalla is a Makassarese like Samad, while Ryamizard is a Palembangnese. (haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
