JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) had sent a letter to summon President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and his youngest son, Edhie Baskoro Yudhoyono aka Ibas, for a questioning related to the investigation into Hambalang graft case implicating Anas Urbaningrum, the ousted Chairman of Democratic Party, Koran Tempo reported.

KPK’s Spokesperson Johan Budi Sapto Prabowo said the letter to SBY and Ibas had been sent on April 28, 2014. But according to Johan, SBY and Ibas had on April 30, rejected to answer KPK’s summon.

In a different location, Adnan Buyung Nasution, one of Anas’ lawyers, also confirmed that both SBY and Ibas had rejected KPK’s summon. But he firmly said that his side will keep trying to urge the KPK to summon SBY and Ibas to the trial.

As reported earlier, Anas has repeatedly urged the KPK to summon both SBY and Ibas for a questioning. According to Anas, SBY and Ibas are important witnesses in Hambalang case and as well as Bank Century bailout scandal. (haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
