JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The National Mandate Party (PAN) and the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) are reportedly in intensive talks with the Great Indonesian Movement Party (Gerindra) to form a coalition to endorse the nomination of Prabowo Subianto as presidential candidate in July’s presidential election, Koran Tempo reported.
The report said Hatta Rajasa, Chairman of PAN and Coordinating Minister for Economy, and Prabowo will soon announce the coalition. The report also said that Hatta is ready to become Prabowo’s running mate.
In a related progress, Chairman of PKS Anis Matta confirmed that PKS is in intensive talk to entering a coalition with Gerindra. While Ahmad Heryawan, PKS politician and West Java Governor, said the possibility of PKS to entering a coalition with Gerindra is bigger than a coalition with Golkar Party.
As reported earlier, Prabowo’s presidential bid is still uncertainty after the National Development Party (PPP) annulled its support to him. Prabowo is now seeking for additional support from other political parties to endorse his nomination. (haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
