JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Rizal Djalil, a former legislator from the National Mandate Party (PAN), was on Tuesday (April 22) appointed as new Chief of the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) replacing Hadi Poernomo, who has entered his mandatory retirement age.

Hendar Ristriawan, Secretary General of the BPK, said Rizal will be sworn in soon after President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono signing a presidential decree on Rizal’s appointment as new BPK Chief. According to Hendar, Rizal will serve as BPK Chief until October 19, 2014.

Born in Kerinci, Jambi on February 20, 1956, Rizal graduated from the University of Indonesia’s School of Public Health.

Prior to be appointed as new BPK Chief, he is a member of the BPK for 2009-2014 period. And he was PAN legislator for two periods (1999-2004 and 2004-2009).

As reported earlier, Hadi Poernomo has entered his mandatory retirement age on Monday (April 21).

But poor for Hadi, on his retirement day and as well as his birthday, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) had named him as a graft suspect in the Bank Central Asia (BCA) tax case.

The KPK also asked the Immigration Office to ban Hadi Poernomo from overseas travel for the next six months. (haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
