JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) ended higher 0.49% at 4897 Thursday (April 17), but closed off its high as profit taking hit some stocks. The index moved at range of 4883-4906.
The stock market in Jakarta will close tomorrow (April 18) for Easter holiday.
Regional markets also closed mixed with Japanese stocks ended flat in lacklustre trade on Thursday. The disappointing China trade data erased early gains.
In Jakarta bourse, Bank Central Asia gained 1.36%, Vale Indonesia jumped 4.7%, Jababeka rose 1.13%, Perusahaan Gas Negara climbed 1.9%, and Multipolar surged 4.07%.
Among losers were Bank Mandiri (-1.25%), Bumi Resources (-2.33%), Bank Tabungan Negara (-2.85%), and Matahari Putra Prima (-2.76%).
Nymex’s crude oil increased 0.16% to US$103.93 per barrel while gold declined 0.36% to US$1,298.80 per ounce. The rupiah strengthened to Rp11,418 against the US dollar.
