JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The local government of East Kalimantan province plans to curb export of crude palm oil (CPO) and coal next year, Detikfinance.com reported.

East Kalimantan Governor Awang Faroek Ishak said CPO and coal producers operating in East Kalimantan province currently mostly sell CPO and coal products to Java island and overseas.

Awang said his local government will only allocate 40% of total CPO production for export market while coal export will be discussed with the energy and mineral resource ministry. East Kalimantan produced more than 200 million tons of coal last year.

Awang noted that his local CPO producers are now building the industry of CPO downstream. He added most coal-fored power plants in East Kalimantan also lack of coal supply.
