JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) closed down 0.68% at 4857 Friday (April 4) as profit taking hit some stocks, mainly banking and property stocks. The index gained 2.5% this week.

Among property stocks, Alam Sutera dropped 1.6%, Bumi Serpong Damai lost 1.5%, and Lippo Karawaci fell 1.28%.

For banking stocks, Bank Rakyat Indonesia fell 1.49%, Bank Negara Indonesia shed 1.9%, and Bank Mandiri declined 1.7%. Adaro Energy also lost 1.52%.

Among gainers were Jababeka (+4.59%), Vale Indonesia (+4.99%), Matahari Putra Prima (+5.76%), and Multipolar (+13.33%).

Nymex’s crude oil increased 0.64% to US$100.93 per barrel and gold rose 0.53% to US$1,291.20 per ounce. The rupiah was traded flat at Rp11,310 against the US Dollar.
