JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will soon name Siti Fadilah Supari, former Minister of Health and now member of President SBY’s Supervisory Team, as suspect in a graft case related to the procurement project of avian influenza medical equipments, Kompas.com reported.
KPK Deputy Chief Busyro Muqoddas confirmed on Tuesday (April 1) that the National Police has handed over the investigation of the case to the KPK.
According to Busyro, KPK will soon name Siti Fadilah as suspect after they issued a sprindik, a letter authorizing a full investigation into Siti Fadilah.
As reported earlier, Siti Fadilah had been named as suspect in the case by the National Police since 2012. However, there is no significant progress so far.
Previously, the Jakarta Corruption Court had sentenced Ratna Dewi Umar, former Director of Medical Services of Health Ministry and another suspect in the case, to five years in prison on September 2013. The case is estimated causing State loses worth Rp50.4 billion. (haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
