JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has delivered a clear statement that the Anti-Graft Commission will soon name new suspects in the graft scandals at the powerful Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Body (SKK Migas).
On Wednesday (March 19), KPK Chief Abraham Samad stated that KPK will soon name several lawmakers allegedly involved in the scandal as new suspects. Abraham asked the press to wait for further progress within the next two or three days.
As reported earlier, more and more details have been emerged about the SKK Migas scandals, including the flow of illicit money to the leaders and members of the House of Representatives (DPR) Commission VII (overseeing energy & mineral resources), during the trial held at the Jakarta Corruption Court.
Didi Dwi Nugroho, head of finance bureau at the Ministry of Energy & Mineral Resources and one key witness in the case, revealed to the trial about the flow of US$140,000 illicit money from the Ministry of Energy & Mineral Resources and the SKK Migas to the four leaders, 43 members, and secretariat of the House Commission VII.
Pertamina CEO Karen Agustiawan, in her minutes of investigation (BAP), mentioned a request of money from both Waryono Karno (at that time Secretary General of Energy & Mineral Resource’s Ministry) and Jero Wacik (Minister of Energy & Mineral Resource and key leader from President SBY’s Democratic Party) for the holiday bonuses (THR) to be delivered to members of the House Commission VII.
While according to KPK’s minutes of investigation (BAP) on the dismissed Chief of SKK Migas Rudi Rubiandini dated September 4, 2013, a part of SKK Migas bribery money worth US$200,000 was in July 2013 delivered to Sutan Bhatoegana Siregar (Head of the House Commission VII and Democratic Party
lawmaker) through Tri Yulianto (member of the House Commission VII and Democratic Party lawmaker). Rudi said the money was delivered after Bhatoegana asked him to deliver the holiday bonuses for members of the House Commission VII.
KPK has so far had summoned and questioned several high-profile names, including Minister of Energy & Mineral Resource Jero Wacik, Sutan BhatoeganaSiregar, Tri Yulianto, and Zainuddin Amali (Deputy Head of the House Commission VII and Aburizal Bakrie’s Golkar Party lawmaker). KPK even had asked the Immigration office to ban Bhatoegana and Tri Yulianto from overseas travel since last month. KPK had also raided the offices of Bhatoegana, Tri Yulianto, Zainuddin, and Energy & Mineral Resource’s
Ministry. (haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
