JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) has just officially nominated Joko “Jokowi” Widodo as presidential candidate for the July’s presidential race.
In a press briefing on Friday noon (March 14), PDI-P Chairwoman and patron leader Megawati Soekarnoputri directly delivered the official announcement and the party’s mandate to the Jakarta Governor.
The former President of the Republic, was accompanied by her daughter Puan Maharani and PDI-P Secretary General Tjahjo Kumolo.
Jokowi has served as Jakarta Governor for 17 months, but so far he cemented the perception on him as a demigod presidential candidate.
The astronomical approval rating of Jokowi leads far away from his rivals such as Prabowo Subianto, Aburizal Bakrie, Wiranto, Jusuf Kalla, and even his boss Megawati.(haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
