JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Many signals are emerging telling the people that PDI-P will endorse Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, as presidential candidate.
But now the Jakarta Governor is harvesting criticisms following his decision to take day off for visiting tomb of Soekarno, the country’s first president and father of PDI-P patron leader Megawati Soekarnoputri, in Blitar, East Java.
Adhie Massardi, Coordinator of Gerakan Indonesia Bersih (Indonesian Movement for a clean country), delivered critic to Jokowi who is supposed to prioritize his work as governor and to put on top the public’s interest.
Talking to the press on Thursday (March 13), Jokowi argued that he had finished his work on Wednesday (March 12) before flying to Blitar.
Jokowi has served as Jakarta Governor for 17 months, but so far he cemented the perception on him as a demigod presidential candidate. The astronomical approval rating of Jokowi leads far away from his rivals such as Prabowo Subianto, Aburizal Bakrie, Wiranto, Jusuf Kalla, and even his boss Megawati.(haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
