STOCKHOLM (Yosefardi) – Lundin Petroleum AB has completed exploration drilling of the Boni prospect in the Baronang PSC, Natuna Sea, offshore Indonesia.
Drilling of the Boni-1 well reached total depth af 2214m below mean sea level on March 11, 2014. “Preliminary analysis of LWD logs indicates that the well encountered the targeted Oligocene Lower Gabus Formation sandstone in well-developed reservoirs, but no hydrocarbons were encountered,” Lundin said.
The Boni-1 side-track will be permanently plugged and abandoned in conjunction with Balqis-1 well. “The Gobi-1 exploration well, located in the Gurita block will now be drilled in the fourth quarter of 2014,” Lundin added.
Lundin has 85% working interest in the Baronang PSC, while Nido Petroleum holds the balance. Nido has an option to add 5%, but subject to Indonesian government’s approval.
