JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Foreign tourists visiting Indonesia reached 753,079 tourists in January 2014, grew by 22.59% from 614,328 in January 2013. Compared to December 2013, the figure declined 12.5%. Foreign investors visited Indonesia in December 2013 totaled 860,655.
Total foreign tourists went to Bali, one of the most attractive places in Indonesia, through Ngurah Rai Airport, in January 2014 amounted 278,685 tourists, rose 21.4% from 229,561 in January 2013. Compared with December 2013, the number fell 4.87%.
The main gate of Soekarno-Hatta Airport recorded foreign arrival of 187,123 tourists in January 2013, increased 16.23% from 160,998 in January 2013. Compared with December 2013, the figure inched down 1%.
The number of tourists stayed in star hotels in 27 provinces reached an average number of 46.98% in January 2014, increased 0.82 points compared to January 2013 (46.16%). Compared to December 2013 (55.73%), the number fell 8.75 points.
Both domestic and international tourists on average stayed in the star hotels for around 2.12 days in January 2014, increased 0.17 points days from January 2013, also up 0.21 days from December 2013.
