JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The House of Representative (DPR) Commission I overseeing defense, information, and foreign affairs, has urged President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) to soon appoint new Secretary General of the Ministry of Defense replacing General Budiman whose concurrently serving as the Army Chief of Staff (KSAD), Koran Tempo reported.
Deputy Head of the House Commission I Maj. Gen. (ret) Tubagus Hasanuddin delivered the statement as critics to the president’s neglection. The PDI-P lawmaker reminded the president about the unethical decision to assign Budiman for leading two strategic posts concurrently.
Member of the House Commission I Maj. Gen. (ret) Yahya Sacawiria also criticized the president. While military observer Anton Ali Abbas views that the performances of the Defense Ministry and the Army would become poor because only one officer leads that two strategic posts.(haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
