JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) opened up 0.8% at 4386 this morning, following gains in regional markets.

Asian shares got a welcome reprieve from selling on Wednesday as Wall Street steadied and investors in emerging markets found some backbone, which took some of the starch out of safe-haven bonds and the yen, Reuters reported.

Nymex’s crude oil increased 0.49% to US$97.67 per barrel in Asian trading and gold rose 0.3% to US$1,254.90 per ounce. Adaro Energy gained 1.68%, Astra International rose 1.2%, Alam Sutra hiked 1.98%, Bumi Serpong Damai lifted 1.76%, Kalbe Farma increased 1.06%, London Sumatra climbed 1.23%, Perusahaan Gas Negara gained 1.58%, and Telkom up 1.59%.
