JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Pressure for the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is intensifying as it is urged to summon the youngest son of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY), Edhie Baskoro Yudhoyono aka Ibas, related to the bribery scandal of the controversial Rp2.5 trillion Hambalang sports center project.

Now, the pressure comes from Anas Urbaningrum, the ousted Chairman of President SBY’s Democratic Party, and a suspect on the case.

“If I was SBY, I has delivered Mas Ibas to KPK,” said Anas’s lawyer Firman Wijaya quoting Anas as saying.

Adnan Buyung Nasution, also lawyer of Anas, said KPK supposedly summon anyone mentioned in the court trial as allegedly involved in the case, including Ibas, at least to clarify allegations against them.

“If it’s not clarified (about allegations against Ibas), it would become a rumor..and Ibu Ani (the First Lady Ani Yudhoyono) might become grumpy. But first, there must be a request from KPK (to summon Ibas) because it’s impossible right that Ibas suddenly come,” said Adnan, who is a senior lawyer and former member of President SBY’s Supervisory Council.

Commenting to those pressure on KPK, KPK Deputy Chief Bambang Widjojanto denied accusation that KPK has no the braveness for summoning those allegedly involved on the scandal, including the president’s son.

As reported earlier, Ibas has denied all allegations against him, including accusation that he received US$200,000 as a fee from Hambalang project as accused by Yulianis (former Vice Director of Finance at Permai Group, a company owned by former Democratic Party Treasurer Muhammad Nazaruddin).
