JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) opened down 0.36% at 4307 this morning, extending Monday’s correction of 2.58%. In the region, Japan’s Nikkei, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng, Korea’s KOSPI regained.
Nymex’s crude oil increased 0.13% to US$95.84 per barrel in Asian trading while gold fell 0.42% to US$1,258.10 per ounce.
Investors might opt to put their funds on the safe-heaven financial instruments such as the US Dollar, Yen, and gold while awaiting the decision by the FED on tapering stimulus this week.
In Jakarta bourse, banking stocks extend losses. Bank Rakyat Indonesia fell 1.2% and Bank Negara Indonesia lost 1.3%. Perusahaan Gas Negara also declined 1.86%, Pakuwon Jati shed 1.65%, and Berau Coal down 1.6%.
