JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – State miner PT Aneka Tambang (Antam) Tbk (ANTM) has officially terminated its iron sand mining activities at Kutoarjo, Purworejo, Central Java.

The iron sands mining at Kutoarjo had run for more than 25 years, operated under Kutoarjo Iron Sands Mining Units. In November 2013, the government of Purworejo Regency officially approved the termination of Antam’s post mining activities in Kutoarjo.

Antam reported sales of Rp8.8 trillion in first nine months of 2013, compared to Rp7.13 trillion in the same period of 2012.

Sales of gold totaled Rp3.84 trillion, nickel ore Rp2.89 trillion, ferronickel 1.72 trillion, silver Rp110 billion, coal Rp58 billion, bauxite ore Rp37.89 billion, and other precious metals Rp3.38 billion.
