JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – MNC Group, through PT Global Mediacom Tbk (BMTR), controlled by Hary Tanoesoedibjo, allocates US$2-3 billion for investing in internet protocol television (IPTV) business.
This investment, targeting to develop 10 million units of fiber optic home pass, will take 10 years. The home pass will cover some big cities such as Jakarta, Surabaya, Bandung, Semarang, Lampung, and Medan.
At 9.23 am Jakarta time, BMTR gained 0.26% to Rp1940 per share while Media Nusantara Citra rose 2.3% to Rp2450. MNC Investama (BHIT) fell 0.3% to Rp325.
MNC Group also revealed that PT MNC Tbk (MNCN) does not have any legal basis to acknoledge the 75% ownership on MNCTV, and will immediately file a criminal charge to the police of the parties that were involved in making such false and misleading announcements. MNCN is the legal and the rightful owner of MNCTV and will continue to operate the station as usual, said Hary.
