JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Wartsila Corporation has been awarded a contract to supply engines for the 200-MW Pesanggaran power plant in Bali Island.
The order, placed by PT Indonesia Power—subsidiary of PLN, was received in the fourth quarter of 2013. The power plant is scheduled for partial operations by the end of December 2014 with full capacity expected in May 2015.
The power plant will utilize Wartsila’s combustion engine technology and will be powered by 12 Wartsila 50 DF dual-fuel engines running primarily on natural gas. “The engines can also use conventional heavy fuel oil should there be an interruption to the gas supply,” Wartsila said Friday.
Construction of the power plant is handled by a consortium led by PT Pembangunan Perumahan (PTPP) Tbk, a state-owned construction firm.
