JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – MNC Group explained on a disclosure to the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) Thursday (Jan 16) that its business MNC TV, previously known as TPI (for Televisi Pendidikan Indonesia, or Indonesian Education Television) is still under the group’s control.

Local media recently reported that MNC TV has been taken over by Siti Hardiyanti Rukmana aka Mbak Tutut, the daughter of former president Soeharto.

Hary Tanoesoedibjo, CEO of MNC Group, said media reports are wrong and misleading as no one of former director of TPI has worked or has access to enter MNC TV office.

Hary revealed that PT Media Nusantara Citra Tbk. (MNCN) still fully controls MNC TV, noting his group got no impact from court ruling on October 10, 2013 which ruled in favor of Tutut.

“MNC is remain the legal owner and has no obligation to handover MNC TV,” he explained. Hary earlier said MNC Group was not a defendant of court.

Harry explained that the Court ruling only impacts on PT Berkah Karya Bersama as defendant of Tutut lawsuit. MNC, Harry said, had in 2006 acquired 75% TPI shares from Berkah Karya Bersama.

Lawyers of PT Cipta Televisi Pendidikan Indonesia (CTPI) made an announcement and public subpoena on Bisnis Indonesia newpaper page this morning, revealing the legal force for the supreme court’s ruling on the dispute with MNC Group.

In an article of the ruling, the supreme court had canceled and stated as not valid and lack of legal force about the ownership of MNC Group over CTPI.
