JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Stock markets in Asia opened mostly lower Tuesday (Jan 14) to tracking sell-offs in Wall Street yesterday.

Nikkei 225 collapsed 2.4% Tuesday morning, while All Ordinaries lost 1%. Mining giants BHP Billiton and Rio Tinto dragged down All Ordinaries. Santos Ltd and Woodside Petroleum also down 1.4% and 0.9%.

Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) and Nasdaq composite dropped significantly by 1.09% and 1.47% Monday.

Nymex crude slips 0.14% to US$91.67 per barrel in Asian trading, while gold inched up 0.08% to US$1252/ounce.
