KUALA LUMPUR (Yosefardi) – The benchmark March 2014 contracts of crude palm oil (CPO) ended further down by RM23 to RM2494 per ton.
April 2014 contracts also declined RM20 to RM2508 on Monday (Jan 13), while February contracts down RM27 to close at RM2472/ton.
Shares of palm oil producers, accordingly, ended lower in the region. In Jakarta, BW Plantation and PP London Sumatra lost 1.65% and 2.93% respectively, while Astra Agro Lestari declined 0.82%.
In Singapore, Wilmar International lost 1.2%, while Indofood Agri and First Resources dropped 1.2% and 0.97% respectively. In Kuala Lumpur, Kulim and IJM Plantations slipped 0.89% and 0.58%, while United Malacca lost 0.14%.
