JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has finally on Friday, January 10, arrested Anas Urbaningrum, former chairman of Democratic Party, for his alleged involvement in the high-profile Hambalang sports center graft case.
KPK placed Anas in the detention center, where former colleague at Democratic Party, Andi Mallarangeng, is also detained in the same case. Andi is former minister of sports and youth affairs and former spokesperson of President SBY.
KPK spokesperson Johan Budi SP said KPK only questioned Anas on basic data because the former lawmaker was not accompanied by his lawyers.
Anas will be detained for the next 20 days, but extendable, depending on the examination and prosecution process.
