JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Attorney General Basrief Arief urged Asian Agri Group, controlled by tycoon Sukanto Tanoto, to pay Rp2.5 trillion in fines before February 1st, 2014 pursuant to the ruling from Supreme Court.

Basrief said if Asian Agri doesn’t comply with the schedule, AGO will confiscate assets worth around Rp5.3 trillion.

Assets to be seized are located in North Sumatra, Riau, and Jambi, where AGO have identified 19 palm oil mills owned by Asian Agri Group.

The Rp2.5 trillion fine is related to dispute over tax payment with director general of tax at ministry of finance.
