JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The government of Indonesia decided to cancel the tender for the construction of Karian dam, Tangerang, Banten province due to the complaint delivered by the losing tender participants.

The losing participants said the process of tender did not comply with the regulation, related to the offering mechanism and the witness.

The government had awarded this project to the winning bidder, the consortium of Daelim and state construction firm PT Wijaya Karya Tbk (WIMA).

The losing participants are the consortium of Hyundai and PT Brantas Abipraya and the consortium of Dongbu and PT Pembangunan Perumahan.

The Karian dam project will cost Rp1.7 trillion, funded by Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) with loan of US$100 million.

The government also plans to operate Jatigede dam in Sumedang, West Java by end of this year.
