JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Sorbitol producer PT Sorini Agro Asia Corporindo (SOBI) Tbk, controlled by Cargill Group, booked net profit of Rp69.85 billion in the first half ended November 30, 2013, jumped by 72% from the corresponding period of 2012.

Sorini’s sales revenue grew slightly to Rp1.03 trillion from Rp972 billion in six months ended November 30, 2012, while cost of goods sold increased to Rp847.4 billion.

Sorini then reported gross profit of Rp186.3 billion, compared to Rp171 billion in six months of 2012, while operating profit jumped 33% to Rp113.5 billion.

As at November 30, 2013, Sorini had total assets and equity of Rp1.48 trillion and Rp903.5 billion respectively.

Cargill acquired Sorini from AKR Group few years back.
