JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – PT Astra International Tbk (ASII), through its unit PT Astratel Nusantara, joins force with Tata Power Co Ltd to expand power plant business in Indonesia.

The joint venture (JV) company is now participating in the tender of coal-fired power plant (PLTU) with capacity of 2×100 megawatts.

ASII allocates capex of Rp17 trillion for next year. It also plans to issue bond worth Rp18 trillion in 2014.

ASII booked net profit of Rp15.39 trillion in first nine months of this year, declined 11.8% from Rp17.19 trillion in the same period of last year. Net revenues fell 14% to Rp141.84 trillion from previous Rp143.14 trillion.

Sales of goods declined to Rp103.18 trillion from earlier Rp107.75 trillion. While revenues from services and rental and financial services increased. Cost of revenues totaled Rp116.47 trillion. Its assets reached Rp208.52 billion while liability amounted Rp109.97 trillion. The company has cash and cash equivalent of Rp17.38 trillion.
