SINGAPORE (Yosefardi) – Singapore Telecommunications Limited (SingTel) booked net profit of S$1.88 billion in first half of this year ended September, increased 3.8% from S$1.81 billion in the same period of last year.

Revenue declined 7.1% to S$8.45 billion from previous S$9.1 billion. Its assets totaled S$38.64 billion while liability amounted S$15.69 billion.

PT Telekomunikasi Seluler (Telkomsel) contributed revenue of S$507.3 million and profit of S$380.5 million to SingTel in first half, compared to S$383.7 million in the same period of last year. SingTel holds 35% stake in Telkomsel. It invested S$3.04 billion in Telkomsel. PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia Tbk (TLKM) controls the rest in Telkomsel.

As at 30 September 2013, Telkomsel has filed appeals and cross-appeals amounting to approximately Rp1.17 billion for various tax claims arising in certain tax assessments which are pending final decisions, the outcome of which are not presently determinable.
