JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Giant coal miner PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI), member of Bakrie Group, reported loss of US$413.56 million in first nine months of this year, eased off by 37% from loss US$655.42 million in the same period of last year.

Revenues inched down 4.2% to US$2.65 billion from previous US$2.77 billion. Cost of revenues was flat at US$2.09 billion. Operating profit was US$215.78 million.

BUMI recorded interest expenses and finance charges of US$449.12 million and loss on foreign exchange (forex) of US$11.9.56 million (previous forex loss: US$24.84 million).

Its assets totaled US$7.03 billion while liability amounted US$7.05 billion.

Meanwhile BUMI’s unit, PT Bumi Resources Minerals Tbk (BRMS) reported loss of US$56.84 million in the period, widened from previous US$33.65 million. Its revenues declined to US$15.29 million from earlier US$17.44 million.
