JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Popular Jakarta Vice Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, popularly known as Ahok, has launched harsh criticism on Minister of Home Affairs Gamawan Fauzi related to the case of Lenteng Agung’s newly-elected sub-district head.

Gamawan had asked Ahok and popular Jakarta Governor Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo to replace Susan Jasmine Zulkifli, the newly elected head of Lenteng Agung subdistrict in South Jakarta.

“If so, Pak Mendagri (Minister of Home Affairs Gamawan Fauzi) must learn again the Constitution,” said Ahok firmly Friday (Sept 27).

Ahok revealed that only 100 among 55,000 people in Lenteng Agung staged a protest demanding Susan Jasmine Zulkifli to be replaced from her position. While a part of protesters are identified, as shown on identity cards, as Depok residents.

Ahok then explained that the decision of appointing someone to fill a public position is not determined by people, who reject or not the appointment.

Minister Gamawan had previously suggested the Jakarta’s administration to evaluate its decision on appointing Susan Jasmine Zulkifli as the head of Lenteng Agung subdistrict.

But Jokowi and Ahok opt to defend Susan and would not replace Susan due to sectarian or primordial issues, but the evaluation on performances. (haryantos@yosefardi.biz)
