JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – The local government of Tanjung Jabung Timur regency had last week reached deal with PetroChina Internation Jabung Ltd for resuming drilling maintainance for 12 wells in Jabung block, Bisnis.com reported Wednesday (Sept 25).

Tens of residents from Ngampel Village, Kapas sub-district, Bojonegoro Regency in East Java had in Sept 1, 2013 set a blockade in front of drilling location of PetroChina-Pertamina joint operating body (JOB) in the area.

Protesters, led by village head Pudjianto, said residents were upset by PetroChina’s treatment that never considered their demand for monthly compensation of payment worth Rp25 million during the operation of drilling rig.

Based on the agreement, PetroChina is committed to do all corporate social responsibility (CSR) program while local government promised to award licenses proposed by PetroChina.
