JAKARTA (Indonesia Today) – Total foreign tourists visiting Indonesia reached 634,194 in August 2012, increased 2.1% from 621,084 in August 2011, Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) announced today. Compared to July 2012, the number declined 9.56%.
Total foreign tourists went to Bali, one of the most attractive places in Indonesia, through Ngurah Rai Airport in March 2012, amounted 222,657 tourists, declined 0.79% from 224,423 tourists in April 2011. Compared with March 2012, the number fell 0.13%.
The main gate of Soekarno-Hatta Airport recorded foreign arrival of 140,077 tourists in August 2012, inched down 2.03% from 142,974 tourists in August 2011. Compared with July 2012, the figure dropped 26.4%.
The main gate of Ngurah Rai Airport recorded foreign arrival of 253,970 tourists in August 2012, inched up 0.5% from 252,698 tourists in August 2011. The figure declined 6.41% from July 2012.
