JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Awang Faroek and his running mate Mukmin Faisyal is likely to be named as the new governor and vice governor of East Kalimantan Regency. Survey from Citra Publik Indonesia (CPI) and Lembaga Survei Indonesia (LSI) shows the pair leading with 42.49% votes.
Imdaad Hamid and his running mate Ipong Muchlissoni and Farid Wadjdy – Aji Sofyan pairs trailed in the second and third place with 36.73% and 20.78% votes each.
Awang Faroek and Mukmin Faisyal is endorsed by 11 political parties, among others are Golkar Party, Demokrat Party and National Mandate Party (PAN). Farid Wadjdy and his running mate Aji Sofyan is endorsed by Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) and United Development Party (PPP).
While Imdaad Hamid and Ipong Muchlisoni is the independent candidate. Imdaad was former mayor of Balikapapan, East Kalimantan capital, while Ipong is businessman engaging on property business and Head of East Kalimantan
