JAKARTA (Indonesia Today) – Asian stocks were mixed Monday (August 20) morning, but mostly in narrow range.

Shanghai and Hang Seng down 0.96% and 0.6% respectively, while Nikkei 225 gains 0.55%. KOSPI composite slips 0.06%, while All Ordinaries inches up 0.03%.

Southeast Asian markets (Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore) were mostly off for Idul Fitri holidays.

Last Friday, Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) ended slightly higher by 0.19%, while Nasdaq composite advanced 0.46%.

Nymex crude oil, meanwhile, opened higher by 0.3% to US$97.75 per barrel in Asian trading Monday, while gold inched up to US$1619 per ounce. (Indonesia Today)
