LONDON (Indonesia Today) – Giant mining firm Xstrata Plc reported net profit of US$2.19 billion in the first half of 2012, dropped 23% from the corresponding period of 2011.

According to the financial statement available to Indonesia Today, sales revenue declined slightly by 7% to US$15.55 billion, while operating profit shed by 42% to US$2.45 billion.

Xstrata is the world’s largest thermal coal exporter. The company also produces nickel, zinc, and copper.
