JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – PT Indofood CBP (ICBP), subsidiary of giant food processor Indofood Sukses Makmur (INDF), through its subsidiary and affiliated PT Indofood Asahi Sukses Beverage (IASB) and PT Asahi Indofood Beverage Makmur (AIBM), had fully acquired shares of PT Pepsi-Cola Indobeverages (PCIB) for a value of US$30 million, or Rp297 billion.
AIBM and IASB have signed sale and purchase agreement with shareholders of PCIB, PT Gapura Usahatama, unit of Salim Group, and Seven-Up Nederland BV, affiliated to PepsiCo Inc, holder of Pepsi brand in United States.
“This transaction will only give small impact to ICBP as sales of Pepsi-Cola Indobeverages only reached Rp600-700 billion in past three years,” one analyst commented.
