JAKARTA (Yosefardi) – Composite index of Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) ended substantially higher by 3.82%, lifted mostly by hefty gains of blue chip stocks and positive sentiment from the region.

Consumer goods giant Unilever Indonesia (UNVR) jumped almost 13%, while Astra International surged by 7%. Telkom also gained more than 5%, while Semen Indonesia and Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa advanced 6% and 9% respectively.

Pharmaceutical giant Kalbe Farma soared 11% in the closing hour, while Indofood Sukses Makmur jumped 8.66%. Bank Central Asia, Bank Mandiri, and BRI gained more than 3% each.

In the region, Nikkei 225 and Shanghai lost 1.04% and 0.41%, but Hang Seng jumped 2.43%. All Ordinaries also advanced 1.6%, while KOSPI inched up 0.16%.
